In response to the reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) issues identified in the school's Red Block, temporary modular classrooms were necessary to ensure continued in-person education while repairs took place.

 The installation of modular steps would provide temporary access to these buildings.

Similar to the modular classrooms, our access solutions offer reusability and easy demountability, allowing for future installations at alternative locations. This advantage distinguishes them from concrete or wooden ramps, which function as single-use systems and lack relocation flexibility.

During the site survey, a lidar scanner was used to scan and digitally map the entire area including any objects in view such as the buildings, the different floor levels, and any obstacles. This technology allows us to conduct site surveys swiftly, even under tight time constraints.

Once the data was collected, our in-house drawing team was able to generate a 3D representation of the systems on top of an accurate depiction of the real location.

Following the assembly of modular buildings in the school's front yard, we proceeded to install compliant modular step units. One of these units featured a connecting walkway platform, effectively linking the two classroom blocks.

The rental period for the step units corresponded with the buildings' lease duration. Once no longer, the units were dismantled and repurposed for upcoming rental projects.

FEATURES INCLUDED:

• Yellow Tread - This safety feature aids individuals with impaired vision in identifying any changes in level.
• Trombone Ends - These additions are placed at the ends of a the step units to prevent clothes from snagging.
• Mesh Platform - The self-draining mesh allows water to pass through, preventing water accumulation on the surface.
• Continuous Handrail - This handrail system ensures that users always have a support to hold onto.
• Standard Colour: Black - The ramps come in a powder-coated black finish, ensuring durability that surpasses conventional paint.

EXTRA FEATURE INCLUDED:

• Solid Hoarding - This skirt is purposefully designed to deter unauthorised access to the underside of the ramp, making it a frequent choice for schools and other public buildings.
