Red Bull F1 Technical Base

The northern and southern sections of the F1 Technical Base, situated trackside at Fusion Silverstone Circuits Ltd, required temporary elevation ramps and steps.

The hire duration of the Rapid Ramps was synchronised with the two-week rental period of the temporary structures.

2D and 3D CAD drawings were produced by our design team using photographs and measurements supplied by our site surveyor.

During the site survey, a Lidar scanner was used to scan and digitally map the entire area, encompassing the building, various floor levels, and any obstacles. This technology allows us to conduct site surveys swiftly, even under tight time constraints.

Once the data was collected, our in-house drawing team was able to generate a 3D representation of the ramps on top of an accurate depiction of the real location.

Our in-house team oversaw the entire process, handling everything from design and fabrication to installation.

After the event's completion, the ramps were disassembled and joined our rental stock rotations.

Ramp A facilitates wheelchair access to the south entrance of the F1 Technical Base and features three entry points, along with a turning platform and two step units.

Ramp B is designed to provide wheelchair access to the north entrance. It runs alongside the building, offering two entry points, and incorporates a turning platform and two step units.

The undersides of all ramps were enclosed with a robust aluminium composite hoarding, specifically designed to discourage unauthorised access underneath.

FEATURES INCLUDED:

• Trombone Ends - These are installed at the ends of a Rapid Ramp to prevent clothes from snagging.
• Telescopic Legs - Adaptable to various threshold heights.
• Mesh Platform - Self-draining mesh allows water to pass through, preventing it from accumulating on the surface.
• Standard Colour: Black - Our ramps feature a powder-coated black finish, ensuring durability surpassing typical paint.

EXTRA FEATURES INCLUDED:

• Infill Handrail - Designed to prevent users from climbing or falling through gaps.
• Continuous Handrail - Ensures users always have support to hold onto.
• Solid Hoarding - Purposefully designed mesh to deter unauthorised access to the underside of the ramp, making it a popular choice for schools and other public buildings.
• Yellow Tread - This safety feature assists individuals with impaired vision in identifying the system's edge and any alterations in level.
